The LCD Photoshop Tutorial

Part 1: The LCD
Part 2: The Tubes
Part 1: The LCD

1)Create a New Document 400x200. Now press D then X to reset your colors, White Foreground, Black BG. 2)Right click on the Icon area in your tool bar as shown in picture and choose "Rounded Rectangle Tool".

3)Make a small size rectangle, like a small hdtv shape one, then right click it and "Make Selection". Click oK so now you should have it selected. Grab your paintbucket tool and color it a light gray.

4)If you have done our Tribal tutorial, you should be familiar with cutting inside the selection to make a new shape. Method one is to grab your "Rounded Rectangle Tool" and make a smaller rectangle inside the exsisting or Method 2, the one I'll be using is to go to Select/Modify/Contract/6 pixels. Then delete the center out.

5)Now to make it come to life by goin to Layer/Layer Style/Bevel and Emboss. Inner Bevel/Smooth/Depth 100%/Direction:UP/Size: 5px/Gloss Contour: Gaussian.

6)Create a new layer. Then click back on the "lcd" layer. Grab your "Magic Wand" tool by pressing "W" and click the inside of the LCD so it looks like so.

7)Click back on your new layer while the inside of the LCD is still selected and fill it with a darkest gray color in your pallete using the "Paint bucket" tool.

8)While its still selected make a New Layer. Then Press "G" to bring up the Gradient Tool. Choose Reflected Gradient and go from top to bottom of the still selected area. Then set the Opacity to 40%.(That can be found in the Layers Pallete)
